Tell us a bit about your wedding! What inspired your choices?
I wanted a rustic wedding. Our colors were burgundy, blush pink, and sage green. I wanted to incorporate Kentucky into our wedding because my family is not from here. I feel like Kentucky is home and wanted to show that in our special day. We had florals everywhere. I loved having a winter wedding because of the colors and vibes.
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
My favorite part of the whole day was the first look with my husband. I am so glad that my photographer talked me into that. I loved everything about our wedding day.
How did you and your partner meet?
Micah and I met when we were in high school. I was a sophomore and he was a junior. He went to school in Trigg and I went here in Hoptown. He came up for a football game with his cousin. I was there with some friends. I went to get a snack and came back and Micah and his cousin had taken my blanket. Supposedly I was not very nice and insisted for my blanket back. After that night, we talked every single day and the rest is history.
Tell us the story of your proposal!
We had went to Hopkinsville Brewing Company with my parents to play bingo. Micah had never won bingo before. He won that night and got Mr. and Mrs. Claus coffee cups. On the way home from the brewery, my dad and Micah stayed in the car while my mom and I walked inside. A few minutes later, they walked inside and Micah got down on one knee with the ring inside the Mrs. Claus cup.
What is something unique you incorporated into your wedding/reception?
I made sure that my grandfather was incorporated into my wedding and reception. I had our specialty drinks named after him and had his cross attached to my bouquet.
Do you have any advice for other couples who are planning their own wedding right now?
Take your time! Do not rush into it! I was so glad we waited a year and a half to get married. It allowed us really figure out what we wanted our special day to look like.
What has been your favorite part about working with The Silo?
One of my favorite parts about working with The Silo is how helpful they are with EVERYTHING! I didn't really have any idea of what I wanted my wedding to look like and they helped me picture my dream wedding. Their quick responses were one of my favorite parts about working with them.
